INTRODUCTION

My name is Micky Jades and I am a Music Producer.  I as a Music Producer have seen so many Artist get into the studio to sing. While so many have failed to give out the best we expected only few has been able to seize the moment to capture the heart of their fans.

Here are few things to do to help you make good songs in the studio for you fans

10 TIPS TO HELP YOU MAKE GOOD MUSIC

Over the years I have seen different type of Artists, the good, the bad, the perfectionists, the correctors, the Autotune freaks, the add more reverb and so on.

Here are few mistakes or right thing some of them are doing.

Always drink a lot of Water when going to and during sessions:

Water is one of the fundamentals of life. The flexibility of your vocal cords and the tone of your singing voice depend directly on the amount of water in your body. Sipping water throughout the session will ensure that you have enough fluid to keep your body and your voice well-irrigated and prepared to carry out all the processes that we take for granted but are actually so vital to our well-being. You can also take other fluids such as fruit juice, chapman or wine

Avoid shouting or overexerting your voice before the main session:

I will tell you not to yell or shout to obtain a desired pitch. Shouting can damage your vocal cords and make you develop bad technique in singing. Do not force your voice as in shouting to obtain the desired pitch that might be too high for you.

If you keep shouting it will result to having an overall bad result

Always take three or more different TAKES when singing the lead vocals:

When recording vocals, you should record at least 3 takes of your lead sections, and ideally, 5 to 6 takes. With more takes, you have flexibility and can splice together the best section of each take for the best possible performance.

You should take the time to develop your sound when it comes to how your verses and choruses will be executed. A single lead vocal can be and should be very intimate. Breathing in the right spots will preserve this intimacy to the listener. So When doubling the lead vocal, your timing of the performances is a crucial factor.

Avoid consuming excessive proteineous food before going to the studio:

This is one of the most underrated advice you will be getting from anyone. This doesn't mean the same thing as don't eat proteinous food to the studio, but in the instance where you ate Beans porridge and Egg to the studio and you start visiting the restroom every 10 - 20 mins or you start suffering from Flatulence and fart every now and then you get uncomfortable and may eventually affect your recording session.

For this reason you are advised to eat an healthy overall diet to the studio and also avoid excessive feeding too as it may affect your overall performance at the studio.

Always listen to songs that inspires you before going to the studio:

Listening to music that you enjoy can inspire you to implement similar elements into your own tracks. This technique can help you stay motivated and inspire you to create music that others enjoy. Try to figure out what you like about particular songs and what about them makes them special. Pay attention to how certain songs make you feel and how those emotions are communicated through the music.

Avoid taking excessive Alcohol or Intoxicant:

Some People tends to think that getting high will boost their morale and performance in the studio but  Taking Alcohol makes your body produces more mucus and therefore affecting the throat

Taking Alcohol or intoxicants may leads to having incoherence or irregular rhythms while singing.

Alcohol can also affect studio performances in other ways. It can make it harder to remember song lyrics and impair a musician’s judgment. Alcohol can also lead to vomiting and nausea when you have gotten high to certain extent.

Practice makes perfection so always practice, practice and practice:

It is almost certain that the better practiced you are, the better your takes will be. The more you practice the song, the more the performance will become second nature. Trust me, those perfect first takes almost never happen by accident. It is always as a result of practice, practice and constant rehearsal.

Practice before your main session to the point that you understands every movement, note, chorus, verse and the minutest details in your song. But mind you make sure you rest a little before the main session begins.

Rest

Always rest before the studio sessions begins.

It is a very crucial factor and an overlooked advice but during the process process of rehearsal all the body part responsible for producing sounds in the body get exercise and worked up so taking a little rest before the main session gets them all relaxed thus giving the best result.

Never underestimate the effort of the producer:

The producer and the studio staff ( instrumentalists, composers, even the janitor) are all responsible for the smooth flow of your studio session and they put in a lot of effort to make it happen, so never underestimate anyone's effort

Pray:

I am a spiritual person but not a religious person. When you pray you become the centre of attraction to all the force in the universe, you can either attract the positive energies or repel the negative energies or even vice versa but I can assure you that when you pray and believe you become confident enough to rule your session.
